What is your organizations mission?
Shop and Dine in the 49 is a buy local initiative that encourages residents and visitors to shop locally.
What are your organizations recent accomplishments that demonstrate how you have helped the small business community?
Shop and Dine in the 49 partnered with the Super Bowl to highlight local neighborhoods, via Super Communities. Seven neighborhoods organized events in their communities which invited residents and guests of San Francisco to explore and celebrate.
What tools and resources has your organization created to help small businesses tap into new opportunities to reach new customers, increase their revenue, and grow their business?
Shop and Dine in the 49 has a series of tool-kits which small businesses can access to learn more about marketing themselves and, to find ways to speak to their customers and employees about the value of shopping local.
San Francisco is known for its diverse culture. How does your organization ensure that the small businesses that make this city unique are able to stay in San Francisco?
Shop and Dine is a campaign to raise visibility on the importance and value of buying local. Shop & Dine in the 49 is a buy local initiative which focuses on bringing spending back into our diverse neighborhoods. By shopping, eating, drinking, playing, and utilizing local services within our neighborhoods, we ensure unique corridors and local businesses remain thriving, successful, and vibrant, and small businesses succeed.
What words of advice or wisdom would you like to share with small business owners?
One of the channels that Shop and Dine in the 49 uses to market and promote local businesses and services is social media. Small businesses should view social media as an opportunity to amplify their marketing efforts in a free and simple way, and to not be afraid to use social media.
